MyPlate: A Guide

MyPlate is a nutritional guide developed by the USDA to help portion out the correct amount of fruits, vegetables, protein, grain, and dairy for optimal nutrition. The colorful plate used as a guide helps to visualize how much of each food group is recommended.

Lesson Overview: 

  • Identify all the food groups using MyPlate.

  • Identify where each food group goes on MyPlate and the corresponding portion size. 

  • Learn how to use your hand to portion out your food.
